Orthotics and Insoles

Insoles/Orthotics are designed to provide support and cushioning to the feet, and can help relieve pain and discomfort caused by a variety of conditions such as plantar fasciitis, flat feet, or high arches.

To create customised insoles or orthotics, a podiatrist will first conduct a thorough evaluation of the patient's feet, ankles, lower legs, shoe wear etc This may involve taking measurements, performing a gait analysis, and reviewing the patient's medical history. Based on this information, the podiatrist will create a mold of the patient's foot, which will be used to create the insoles or orthotics. They are suitable for certain shoes which will be discussed during the appointment.

Once the insoles or orthotics are ready, the podiatrist will fit them to the patient's suitable shoes, and provide instructions on how to use and care for them. With proper use, insoles and orthotics can help reduce pain and discomfort, improve balance and stability, and prevent future foot and ankle problems.

Overall, podiatrists play a critical role in helping patients maintain healthy feet and ankles. By creating customised insoles or orthotics, they can provide targeted support and relief for a variety of foot and ankle conditions, helping patients to stay active, comfortable, and pain-free.
